KNEC Registration
Any new institution wishing to register candidates for KNEC examinations must fulfill the following:-
- Submit a valid registration certificate from the Ministry of Education; in case of school (KCPE & KCSE) and Teacher Education examinations.
- Business and Technical examination centres should submit a report from Technical, Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
- Complete and submit an application form for registration of a new examination centre which is available on KNEC website
- Submit a questionnaire duly filled by the Sub-County Director of Education or the Kenya National Examinations Council after inspection of the centre. This must be accompanied by a report giving recommendations on the status of the institution;
(The application must reach KNEC a year before registration of the candidates). - When an examination centre relocates to a new premise it is required to apply to KNEC for re-inspection

To apply for KCPE or KCSE KNEC 2020 KNEC examiner jobs, follow the procedure below:
- Visit: https://cp2.knec.ac.ke
- Enter phone number using format 254720111111
- You will receive login username and password via sms
- Login and fill the online form with required details
- After updating your profile click save to continue
- Select Jobs/Vacancy and
- Submit application for the KNEC contracted professional vacancy that you are interested in (Supervisor, Security Officer, Center manager, invigilator, or Driver )
Payment of KNEC Examiner 2020
Below is how much personnel who will be administering 2020 KCSE and KCPE will be paid for the entire exam period:
For KCPE;
- KCPE Supervisors will be paid Ksh. 2,485
- KCPE Invigilators will be paid Ksh. 1,615
- KCPE Security Officers: Ksh 1,050
- KCPE Drivers: Ksh. 1,050
For KCSE;
- KCSE Supervisors: Ksh. 12,510 for those in Nairobi and Mombasa county. Other counties they will be earn KES. 11,340
- KCSE Invigilators: Ksh. 9860 for teachers in Nairobi and Mombasa county. Other counties they will be earn KES. 7820
- Secondary School principals: Ksh. 9,000
- KCSE Security Officers: Ksh 6720
- KCSE Drivers: Ksh. 6480

Below is the mandate of the Council as outlined in Section 10 of KNEC Act No. 29 of 2012: To;
- Set and maintain examinations standards
- Conduct public academic, technical and other national examinations within Kenya at basic and tertiary levels
- Award certificates or diplomas to candidates in such examinations. (Such certificates or diplomas, shall not be withheld from the candidate by any person or institution)
- Confirm authenticity of certificates or diplomas issued by the Council upon request by the government, public institutions, learning institutions, employers and other interested parties
- Undertake research on educational assessment
- Advice any public institution on the development and use of any system or assessment when requested to do so, and in accordance with such terms and conditions as shall be mutually agreed between the Council and the public institutions
- Promote the international recognition of qualifications conferred by the Council
- Advice the Government on any policy decision that is relevant to, or has implications on the functions of the Council or the administration of examinations in Kenya
- Do anything incidental or conducive to the performance of the preceding functions

- Award certificates and diplomas to successful candidates
- Conduct research on educational assessment
- Carry out equation of certificates and diplomas issued by other credible examining boards

This portal is used to capture details of grade 3 learners, download grade 3 assessment materials and to capture assessment results for the learners. To access the portal click on; https://cba.knec.ac.ke/Account/
The KCPE and KCSE Portal
This portal is used for administration of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE, and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, exams.
The portal allows Primary schools to register candidates, Confirm Registration and Download the KCPE result slips online. For Secondary schools, the portal allows for candidates’ registration, Confirm Registration, Download & upload KCSE projects data, download KCSE results and perform KCSE Qualifying Test Registration.

A candidate is considered duly registered after fulfilling the following:
- Candidate’s details are successfully uploaded onto the registration platform for the specific examination.
- The subjects are duly selected as per subject cluster as stipulated in the regulations governing the specific examination.
- Payment of fees where applicable (examination fees is not refundable or transferable to another candidate nor to another year)
- Submission of all the candidates’ registration materials to KNEC
