Role of centre managers in determining KNEC pay

KNEC has revealed the agreed upon payment rates for all officials who have been hired to oversee this year’s 2020 national examinations.

If the council has hired your services during the administration of the 2020 KCSE/ KCPE national exams, kindly remember to download your invitation letter which you will present to your supervisor and centre manager or any MoE representative during rehearsal.

Remember to check whether your centre manager has confirmed your physical presence at the designated examination centre since this register will be used to determine how much money you will be paid at the end of the exercise.

2020 KCSE Knec contracted officers’ payment rates 2021

Teachers who have been contracted to supervise this year’s KCSE will bag at least sh 12, 500  for three weeks.

The latest detailed payment structure by KNEC indicates that teachers will earn up to sh 12500.

Primary school heads serving as centre managers will earn up to sh 500 per day.

This is inclusive of the rehearsal day for KCPE and the three examination days.

For a successful administration of the KCPE exam, a total of sh 2000 will be paid to each headteacher.

KCPE KNEC PAYMENT RATES

For the whole examination period, supervisors will earn sh 2, 485, invigilators sh 1, 615, security officers sh 1, 050 and drivers sh 1, 040.

KCSE KNEC PAYMENT RATES

KCSE supervisors based in Nairobi and Mombasa will be paid sh 695 per day translating into sh 12, 510 for 18 days.

Supervisors based in other regions will earn sh 630 per day translating to sh 11, 340.

Invigilators based in Nairobi and Mombasa will be paid sh 580 per day for 17 days while those from other regions will earn sh 460.

Principals will pocket a flat rate of sh 500 for 18 days translating to kshs 9, 000.

Security officers will earn sh 6, 720 while drivers will pocket sh 6, 480.

Below is a summary of how much the KNEC contracted personnel who will be administering 2021 KCSE and KCPE will be paid for the entire exam period

For KCPE; • KCPE Supervisors will be paid Ksh. 2,485

• KCPE Invigilators will be paid Ksh. 1,615

• KCPE Security Officers: Ksh 1,050

• KCPE Drivers: Ksh. 1,050

For KCSE;

• KCSE Supervisors: Ksh. 12,510 for those in Nairobi and Mombasa county.

In other counties, they will earn KES. 11,340

• KCSE Invigilators: Ksh. 9860 for teachers in Nairobi and Mombasa county.

In other counties, they will earn KES. 7820

• Secondary School principals: Ksh. 9,000

• KCSE Security Officers: Ksh 6720 • KCSE Drivers: Ksh. 6480
