KNEC Releases ECDE Examination Timetable for Old Curriculum

Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has made a release of  dates for  the start of 2021.

This exam is for Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) Examinations.

As per the to the  a circulNoar sent to County Directors, Knec council indicated that rehearsals will be conducted on Monday 29th November 2021 while the examinations will take place between Tuesday , November 30 and Thursday December 2, 2021.

KNEC  revealed that it will rely on officers from Ministry of Education and Teachers Service Commission (TSC) who will be coordinated by the Sub-county Directors of Education.

According to the personnel who will be involved in the management of the exams was done between 22nd and 26th November 2021 in a meeting which was chaired by Deputy County Commissioners.

The candidates who have refers in ECDE have been informed to register in their former ECDE College inorder to re-sit for the units they failed.

ECDE examination for 2021 will be the last that KNEC is offering under old curriculum; as the government changed the curriculum system from 8.4.4 to Competency Based Curriculum(CBC) which resulted to changes in assessment of learners.

This  certificate course in ECDE was phased out and replaced with Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education which embraces the new curriculum.
