The Teaching Service Department (TSD) is the Government Institute of the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) which is mandated to administer the Teaching Service. The Department is under the overall supervision of the CEO Teaching Service.

The Teaching Service has a total establishment of about ±15 000 Primary School Teachers and Secondary School Teachers. The majority of schools belongs to Christian Denominations while others belongs to Government, Community and Private. Teachers are employed by the Government through the Teaching Service commission (TSC) except for Private Schools.

Recruitment and Selection
Recruitment of teachers by the Commission is demand driven and has been decentralized to TSC County for primary schools and Board of Management for post-primary institutions.

Process of recruitment and selection
The Commission will advertise available vacancies and interested candidates will be required to submit application forms to the county/institutions where they would wish to be considered for employment.
Short listed candidates will be invited to appear before the recruitment panel.
Successful candidates will fill employment forms.
Agents will submit completed forms and merit lists to TSC headquarters

Vetting Process
The Commission will vet the recruitment documents in accordance with the guidelines and:
Inform the recruiting agents of the outcome of the vetting process.
Issue appointment letters to successful candidates. Failure to take up the appointment within the stipulated period will automatically lead to cancellation of appointment.

You can check your TSC new teacher online registration status by visiting the TSC online services portal. 3. Then enter your identity card or passport number and press go. You will receive your TSC registration confirmation

1. My salary was sent to the wrong station
Returned salaries are received by the Revenue Division at the T.S.C headquarters. If for genuine reasons your salary was returned and the division verifies that the case is genuine, they should be able to refund the amount due to you as soon as you contact them.

1 How do I access my Online payslip ?
Register for the payslip service by selecting registration/activate account on online payslips under online services
2. Invalid names when registering for online payslips ?
When you are trying to register and you get invalid user name, ensure that you are filling the names starting with a capital letter and the rest in small letters e.g. Mary WakimuTyping all capital or all small letters will result in an invalid names error.
3. I have tried registering but still getting invalid fields, what do I do?
email us at payslips@tsc.go.ke and we shall get back to you on the issue.

1. How can I register as a teacher ?
- Use the online step by step guide to register as a TSC teacher. Ensure you have scanned the following prior to starting the registration process;
- 1.all your academic certificates i.e. primary,secondary,university and college
- 2. University or college transcripts
- 3. passport photo
- 4. banking slip of the registration payment done.
2. How will I know that I have been registered ?
To check your registration status, on the TSC website under online services select teachers online and choose registration status.
3. How long will the certification take ?
The certification will take 30 days.

1 How do I reset my Password ?
Contact your County Director, Deputy County Director, Sub-County Director, County Staffing Officer or your County ICT Officer for assistance with resetting your passwords.
2. I cannot find a Teacher in TPAD
Ensure the teacher is captured in TMIS (Teacher Management Information System) by the Principal/Headteacher.
