APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF PRINCIPAL

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Chief Principal is the lead educator and accounting officer and is responsible for the operational management of the institution. He/she is also responsible for the development and implementation of education plans, policies, programmes and curriculum activities of the institution.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

To qualify for appointment to the grade of Chief Principal, a teacher must: –

  1. Be serving under Career Progression Guidelines;
  2. Have served as Principal for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  3. Be currently serving as Senior Principal T-Scale 14 (D4);
  4. Be a holder of Master’s Degree in a relevant area;
  5. Have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal and performance contracting process;
  6. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers;
  7. Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
  8. Meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.

The Deputy Principal I will report to the Principal. He/she will provide support to the Principal of the institution in the development and implementation of education plans, policies, programs and curriculum activities.

4 9/2019 APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY PRINCIPAL II
JOB DESCRIPTION

The Deputy Principal II will report to the Principal. He/she will provide support to the Principal of the institution in the development and implementation of education plans, policies, programs and curriculum activities.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

To qualify for appointment to the grade of Deputy Principal II, a teacher must: –

  1. Be serving under Career Progression Guidelines;
  2. Have served as Deputy Principal for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  3. Be currently serving as Deputy Principal III (D1);
  4. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
  5. Have a Master’s degree in a relevant area;
  6. Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
  7. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.

5 12/2019 CURRICULUM SUPPORT OFFICERS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

i. Be a Kenyan Citizen;

ii. Be a holder of Bachelor’s degree in Education;

iii. Master of Education degree will be an added advantage;

iv. Must have served satisfactorily for a minimum period of three (3) years as a Senior Graduate teacher and was converted to C5 with effect from 1st July, 2017;

v.Must have nine (9) years of relevant work experience in Education;

vi. Must have demonstrated Subject content mastery, competence and ability as a classroom teacher;

vii. Proven track record on performance on the teaching – learning process;

viii. Must have excellent planning and organizational skills;

ix. Must have excellent analytical and conceptual skills;

x. Must have strong communication skills;

xi. Must have strong commitment and self-drive;

xii. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills;

xiii.Must have digital literacy skills;

xiv. A Course in Management or Leadership will be an added advantage;

xv. Must demonstrate excellent Teacher Performance Management abilities.
