TSC Promotion Interviews Set for December: Interview Phases and Dates.

The Teacher’s Service Commission (TSC) is gearing up for promotional interviews to fill 36,053 job vacancies that were initially announced in August this year. These interviews will be conducted in three distinct phases, commencing on December 4, 2023, following the conclusion of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.

On October 30, 2023, TSC issued invitations for these promotions. In the event of selection for promotion, all candidates participating in the interviews must provide valid Chapter 6 documents.

TSC Promotion Interview Phases

The following outlines the three interview phases:

Phase I (December 4 to 15, 2023):

At the sub-county level, this initial phase is for primary school teachers who are aiming to advance from Grades C1 to C5.

These promotions cover Headteacher positions in regular primary schools and Special Needs Primary Schools at T-Scale 1, Deputy Headteacher II in regular primary schools at T-Scale 9, Senior Teacher I in regular primary schools and SNE primary schools at T-Scale 8, and Senior Teacher II in regular and SNE primary schools at T-Scale 7.

Phase II (January 4 to 16, 2024):

Phase II, conducted at the county level, targets post-primary teachers aspiring to advance through the ranks in grades C3 to D1.

Promotions in this phase include Deputy Principal III in regular secondary schools at T-Scale 11, Senior Master III in regular secondary schools, Senior Lecturer IV in Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) at T-Scale 9, and Senior Master IV in regular secondary schools at T-Scale 9, among others.

Phase III (February 4 to 16, 2024):

These promotions will take place at the regional level and involve post-primary administrators looking to advance in grades D2 to D5 levels. Promotion positions in this phase include Chief Principal in regular secondary schools at T-Scale 15, Senior Principal at T-Scale 14, Principal at T-Scale 13, Deputy Principal II at T-Scale 12, and Senior Lecturer I at T-Scale 12.

To facilitate these promotions, TSC has allocated a budget of Ksh2.2 billion.
