TSC Full List of 14,613 Transferred Teachers to Home Counties

By | December 19, 2023

TSC transfer list update. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has wrapped up the relocation of 14,613 teachers to their home counties, signalling the end of the delocalization policy. However, 120 teachers face delayed transfers due to awaiting replacements. Out of 14,733 applicants during the transfer process, TSC will review pending transfers before approving additional requests.

In terms of logistics, teachers and deputy headteachers are required to report by January 23, while school principals must report by January 16. The transfer list discloses the movement of 226 school principals, 189 deputy headteachers, 1,948 primary school principals, 1,316 secondary teachers, and 10,934 elementary school teachers.

For smoother transitions, TSC regional chiefs and the commission headquarters will oversee transfers within and between regions. Approximately 12,019 teachers will relocate within regions, and 2,594 will move between regions. A supplementary message emphasizes the importance of filing school head handover reports by February 10, overseen by the TSC County Director and the Ministry of Education.

TSC transfer list update. It’s noteworthy that the delocalization policy, criticized for its impact on teachers and families, faced opposition from President William Ruto’s government and the National Assembly’s education committee. Following the cancellation of the policy in response to a motion passed on November 3, the committee urged TSC to conclude all 14,000 cases by January.

The updated approach now permits transfers of instructors within their working zones, providing a more flexible and localized solution. This move aligns with efforts to address concerns raised about the initial policy’s implications.
