Our client, a 4-star Hotel in Lamu, is looking for an experienced Accountant to oversee the daily operations of the Accounting Department. He/she will be responsible for doing payroll, day-to-day accounting operations as well as financial reports. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry. He/she Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify cash receipts & credit card transactions on a daily basis.
- Responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations.
- Responsible for tax and statutory requirements.
- Prepare financial statements on a monthly basis.
- Prepare budget & monitor variances.
- Responsible for supplier payments and supervising the controller procurement.
- Responsible for handling payroll.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a relevant discipline.
- Must have CPA/ACCA qualification.
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in General Accounting.
- Experience in Hospitality Industry desirable.
- Knowledgeable in Accounting software, especially QuickBooks/ Excel.
- Strong financial management skills.
- Have proven analytical skills.
- Excellent Presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Work successfully under pressure and good at multitasking.
- Excellent People Management and communication skills.
