NSSF Finance Manager Jobs Application Requirements, Qualifications

Reporting to the General Manager (Finance & Investment), he/she will be responsible for Implementation of expenditure policy and co-ordination of expenditure budgetary control; implementation of financial policies and coordination of finance related activities such as preparation of budget, Annual Statements, Management and financial reports and ensuring prompt receipting, analysis of income sources and reconciliation of bank accounts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, monitor, control and review annual corporate budgets for the Fund including reallocations;
  • Analyze financial performance for medium and long-term business planning/forecast;
  • Prepare financial reports for relevant bodies;
  • Prepare board papers on financial matters;
  • Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledgers as well as bank statements;
  • Manage fixed assets register;
  • Monitor and evaluate the financial information system
  • Provide financial analyses and models as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations;
  • Carry out end of period closures procedures for the Fund;
  • Liaise with banks to resolve issues on income accounts;
  • Support both internal and external financial audit process; and
  • Prepare cash flow reports

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or related field from a recognized institution;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or related field from a recognized institution;
  • Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K)
  • Professional Qualification such as ACCA and/or CFA;
  • Membership to a relevant and accredited professional body such as ICPAK, ACCA and/or the CFA Institute and in good standing;
  • At least ten (10) years’ relevant cumulative work experience, five (5) of which should have been at senior management position;
  • Leadership Course from a recognized institution or a Certificate in Corporate Governance;

NSSF Internal Audit Manager Jobs Application Requirements, Qualifications

Reporting to the General Manager (Internal Audit), he/she will be responsible for designing, implementing, evaluating and reporting on the internal controls within the Fund. He/she will be expected to plan, manage and perform specialized investigative audits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Formulate and maintain strong internal audit programs, process and procedures and strategies;
  • Formulate the annual Audit Plan and present it to the Audit Committee for approval;
  • Review and approve audit programs and planning memorandum for individual assignments;
  • Manage performance of audit assignments, review audit reports and present the same to the Board;
  • Perform preliminary planning and establish direction for audits, providing leadership and managing the process to acceptable outcomes;
  • Coordinate and interact with external auditors and conduct audit entry and exit discussions;
  • Monitor and review the execution of individual audit assignments;
  • Develop and spear-head anti-fraud strategy in collaboration with the compliance function;
  • Plan and coordinate the timely performance of special audit investigations And forensic audits in the Fund as necessary;

Reporting to the Managing Trustee, the General Manager( Finance and Investment) will be responsible for ensuring the Fund’s financial stability, growth and long-term sustainability by making sound financial decisions, optimizing investments and managing risks.He/She will be responsible for planning, coordinating, leading and controlling the financial management, developing and implementing the Fund’s investment strategy, and managing the Fund’s investment portfolio. He /She will oversee the operations of the Property Development and Management and Investments & Actuarial and Financial functions of the Fund while ensuring and facilitating the availability of required knowledge, skills and tools within the departments so that assigned managers are able to deliver on their roles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that support the Fund’s goals and objectives;
  • Develop policy guidelines on all matters related to management of the Funds’ properties;
  • Develop and oversee the fund’s investment portfolio and making decisions that will maximize returns;
  • Develop a robust investment policy statement for the Fund in line with corporate objectives;
  • Create and manage budgets to ensure efficient location of financial resources;
  • Manage cashflows, liquidity and working capital to support the Fund’soperations;
  • Conduct financial analysis to evaluate investment opportunities and cost-cutting measures;

OB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce or a related field from a recognized institution;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce or a related field from a recognized institution;
  • Professional qualification in any of the following disciplines: Certified Public Accountant (CPA (K)), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA), Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, Certification in Insurance or any other relevant qualification ora related field from a recognized institution;
  • At least twelve (12) years’ work experience, five (5) of which should be in a senior management position;
  • Membership to a relevant and accredited professional body such as ICPAK,. ACCA, CFA Institute, ICIFA, Institute of Faculties of Actuaries (IFoA), Society of Actuaries (SoA), The Actuarial Society of Kenya (TASK) and/or ICIFA or any other relevant association and in good standing;
