Job Summary

We are looking for a General Manager for our upcoming Insurance Company. This particular individual will handle all aspects of Insurance Programme from quotations, placements of cover, documentation, renewals, claims and customer service.

The general manager will be responsible for strategic and operational efficiency in the Business development area so as to drive business growth in line with company’s policies, requirements and regulations.

Responsibilities

1. Design strategies and policies to achieve the company’s mission, vision, objectives and core values.
2. Gather marketing intelligence including competition, new products and emerging technologies around insurance.
3. Acquires New Business and ensures Organic Growth of all the departmental accounts
4. Develop strong understanding of customers and market dynamics
5. Set goals, targets, and monitor the Company business performance while ensuring the business sales targets are met.
6. Receipt of Customer quotation requests and ensure negotiations of covers and placement of business with reputable underwriters at best terms.
7. Procuring quality business through collaboration with underwriting teams
8. Manage business units across the company and ensure regulatory compliance.
9. Ascertain level of risk exposure and ensuring all premium due is collected in conjunction with credit control department.
10. Ensure efficient use of resources and time
11. Ensure all employees are kept motivated and are working towards achievement of the company objectives.
12. Putting in place standards for the company and interdepartmental service level agreements that will improve the company’s service ratings and ensure that service to customers and procedures meet their expectations.
13. Ensuring appropriate staffing levels, effective performance management and motivation of staff.
14. Upholds customer service and accounts relationship for business retention by maintaining good customer relations and monitors/ensures that customer service programme is executed and implemented.
15. Facilitates expeditious claims settlement by reporting documenting and close follow up.
16. Ensures that new market developments that impact on client’s portfolio is communicated to respective clients.
17. Facilitates and ensures successful tendering process.
18. Provides various monthly reports to the management for the Corporate Division.
19. Any other Work assigned by the management

Job Requirements

Required education: Bachelor’s degree
Required relevant work experience: 5 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
