CS Machogu Reveals 2023 KPSEA Results Release Date.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has revealed when the results of the 2023 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) will be released.

The CS confirmed on Monday 8th that the KPSEA 2023 results would be announced in two weeks. Machogu was speaking at Moi Girls’ High School in Eldoret during the KCSE 2023 results release.

“The KCSE Examination will be followed by the release of KPSEA reports for candidates who sat the Grade 6 assessment in 2023 in the next 2 weeks,” Machogu told the press.

Machogu also recommended teachers and parents use the KPSEA results to track learner progression. “I urge all parents, and teachers to scrutinise the KPSEA reports to ensure they use the results to monitor learner progress,” he went on to say.

In 2023, 1.2 million students took the KPSEA exams, which began on October 30, 2023, and finished on November 1, 2023. KPSEA will replace the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), which will be phased out, beginning next year.

Candidates will answer 30 questions instead of the normal 50 questions in the new exams. The first day consisted of English language and mathematics papers, followed by Integrated Science and Kiswahili on the second day.

On the final day, Arts and Crafts, Music, and Religious Education are covered in the Creative Art and Social Studies subject.

Opiyo Wandayi, Minority Leader of the National Assembly, voiced worry on Saturday over the delay in the release of KPSEA examination results, claiming that it was impeding the transfer into grade 7.

“The 2023 KPSEA results have not been released, inhibiting the transition to Grade 7, which is to open school on 8/01/2024,” he said.
