KUCCPS 2023 Inter-University Transfer: Change of Course and Campus plus Requirements

INVITATION FOR INTER-UNIVERSITY / INTER-INSTITUTIONAL TRANSFER APPLICATIONS

KUCCPS Inter-Institutional Transfers for the 2023/2024 portal are open for 2022 KCSE candidates who have been successfully placed in various universities and TVET institutions but wish to transfer to other institutions.

Inter-institution transfers are done by KUCCPS and applications are submitted online through the Student’s Portal (students.kuccps.net).

To apply, please follow the following steps as given by KUCCPS:

Step 1; Visit: http://student.kuccps.net and log in.

Step 2: Click the Transfers Tab on Top

Step 3: Select Programme

Select the programme you want to transfer to, and put the PROGRAMME CODE in the inter-institution transfer field. You will only be allowed to proceed to the next step if you meet the cutoff and minimum requirements.

Step 4:  Reason for Transfer

Select the Reason for Transfer (Medical, Person with Disability, Financial Reasons, Not my preferred programme or other).

After selecting, attach a document that supports your reason for transfer.

Then fill in the reason for the Transfer Application in not less than 300 characters and note more than 300 characters.

The next step will load automatically if you have done everything right. Otherwise, you will not be able to proceed to the next step.

Step 5: Transfer Payment

Follow the payment procedure that will appear after completing the reason for the transfer.  Pay via Lipa Na Mpesa Paybill and enter the Mpesa Confirmation Code.

The system will validate your payment and the next step will load automatically.

  • Go to lipa na M-Pesa
  • select pay bill
  • enter business number 820201
  • for the account number, enter the applicant’s KCSE year and KCSE index number (without spaces)
  • enter the amount (Ksh, 1000)
  • enter your mpesa pin and send
  • enter the mpesa transaction code in the space provided. The system will automatically validate if the payment is correctly done

Click on the submit button that appears and enter your KCPE index number in the prompt that appears for verification.

Then click submit. Enter your index number if asked to do so and click submit again.

STEP 6: Endorsement by Receiving Institution

The institution to which you applied to transfer (receiving institution) will receive your transfer and endorse or reject it.

The major factor that will be considered by the receiving institution on whether to approve or reject your application is the space available in the course you want to join.

Step 7: Endorsement by Releasing Institution

Once your transfer has been approved by the receiving institution, the releasing institution will then endorse your transfer.

Step 8: Review by KUCCPS

After being endorsed by both the receiving and the releasing institution, KUCCPS will be notified that the applicant has been accepted to join the institution that he applied to transfer to and has been released from the institution where he was initially placed.

KUCCPS will then review the application for approval.

Step 9: Transfer the Letter

Once your application has been approved by KUCCPS, download the transfer letter and send a copy to the University of Kabianga.

NOTE 1: You will be required to pay ksh. 1,000 for inter-institution transfer. Only proceed if you fully understand the transfer application instructions.

NOTE 3: Only KCSE 2020 candidates are eligible for the online transfer (Students who sat for their KCSE earlier can apply manually by writing to the CEO of KUCCPS through the receiving and releasing institutions’ VCs/Principals)

NOTE 4: Change of programme within the University of Kabianga shall be done after reporting to the University, not through the KUCCPS portal.
