The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) national examinations stipulated to be set rolling next week have now taken a new twist after the Ministry of Education announced some key changes.

The veteran MoE Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha today noted that the ministry has instituted some changes in the timelines for opening of examination containers.

Magoha underscored that the containers will now be opened at 6.30 am and not at 6.00 am as occasioned in the previous years. He affirmed that this move has been established in a quest to reduce the time span examinations officials are in contact with the exam papers.

Magoha stated that the move will help reduce instances of examination leakages, which will go a long way in curbing the heinous act of examination cheating.

“If the examination centre is at a close proximity to the container, then it will be illogical to release the examinations one hour before time. They can essentially wait till it is only about 20 minutes to commence,” Magoha stated.

Here is the revised and final KCSE 2021-2022 Timetable and instructions to candidates who will sit for their examinations in March/ April 2022.

According to the timetable, the candidates sit for their first theory paper on MONDAY 14/03/2022. The last examination day will be on Friday April 1, 2022.
