The Department of Economics Accounting and Finance under the School of Business invites applications from qualified candidates for the following Professional Courses due to start in January (and June for July intake) 2020 at JKUAT, Main Campus, Juja. Other qualified candidates interested in pursuing Diploma or Degree courses in Economics, Accounting and Finance are advised to visit the Department website or its offices at JKUAT, Main Campus.

COURSE MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Certificate in Accounting and
    Management Skills (CAMS)
    CAMS Level 1  KCSE mean grade D+ or its equivalent.
    CAMS Level 2  Pass CAMS Level 1
  2. Accounting Technicians Diploma
    (ATD)

    ATD Level 1  Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)
    examination with an aggregate average of at least grade
    C- (C Minus) or equivalent qualifications.
     Any other KASNEB Technician or Diploma
    Examination Certificate
    ATD Level 2  ATD Level 1 or CAMS (Holders of CAMS are
    exempted in ATD Level I)
    ATD Level 3  ATD Level 2

    Certified Public Accountants (CPA)
    Certified Investment and Financial
    Analysts (CIFA)
    Certified Secretaries (CS)
    KASNEB allows other exemptions to holders of Degrees and Diplomas from recognised
    universities, institutions of higher learning and other examination bodies.
    In CS major exemptions are given to CPA, CPSP-K and CIFA Graduates
    ` CPA or CIFA or CS Section 1  Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)
    examination with an aggregate average of at least grade
    C+ (C plus) or its equivalent
     KASNEB Technician Diploma or Professional
    Examination Certificate.
     A Degree from a recognised University
     Such other Certificates or Diplomas as may be
    approved by KASNEB
    CPA or CIFA or CS Section 2  CPA or CIFA or CS Section 1
    CPA or CIFA or CS Part II  CPA or CIFA or CS Part I or ATD Level 3

Holders of a relevant Degree from a recognised

    Technologists (CICT)
    KASNEB allows other exemptions to holders of Degrees and Diplomas from recognised
    universities, institutions of higher learning and other examination bodies.
    CICT Section 1  Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)
    Examination with an aggregate average of at least grade
    C+ (C plus) or its equivalent.
     KASNEB Technician, Diploma or Professional
    Examination Certificate.
     A Degree from a recognised University.
     Such other Certificates or Diplomas as may be approved
    by KASNEB
    CICT Section 2  CICT Section 1
    CICT Part II  CICT Part I or DICT Level 3

    KASNEB allows other exemptions to holders of Degrees and Diplomas from recognised
    universities, institutions of higher learning and other examination bodies.
    CCP Section 1  Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)
    examination with an aggregate average of at least grade
    C+ (C plus) or its equivalent.
     KASNEB technician, Diploma or professional
    Examination Certificate.
     A Degree from a recognised University.
     Such other Certificates or Diplomas as may be approved
    by KASNEB

     Holders of a relevant Degree from a recognised

    Professional of Kenya CPSP-K)
    KASNEB allows other exemptions to holders of Degrees and Diplomas from recognised
    universities, institutions of higher learning and other examination bodies.
    CPSP-K Part I  Pass in Associate in Procurement and Supply of Kenya
    (APS-K)
     Relevant Degree from JKUAT or recognized University
    (up to seven exemptions are available).
     Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE),
    mean grade of C+(plus) with minimum C+(plus) in
    English and in Mathematics.
    CPSP-K Part II  CPSP-K Part I
     Holders of a relevant Degree from a recognised
    University
    CPSP-K Part III  CPSP-K Part II
    CPSP-K Part IV  CPSP-K Part III

SEMESTER DATES
1st Semester – Early January to Mid-May 2nd Semester – Early July to Mid-November Mode of study: Day, Evenings and Weekends (based on demand)
PAYMENTS
Registration fee: 1000/= for JKUAT Students and 1500/= for Non-JKUAT students. Amount payable once only to the university cash office or account below.
Course Fees:
