Friendship International Sports Academy acronym’ FISA is an organization that was started in 2006 by its directors, Dr. Maurice Awang Owuor and Mr. Amit Shah. The academy’ main aim is to support and nurture children sporting talent, mainly in soccer. The school draws children and teenagers from neighboring hoods such as Mukuru slum and south B who then are trained by qualified coaches namely Wedson Waweru, Charles, Hammington and Mickey.
Enrollment
Players enrolled at the school benefit not only from football training but also crucial life skills which help sensitize them against social ills such as crime, premature and irresponsible sexual behavior, drug abuse, illiteracy among others.
Contact details
The school is located in the South B area at the Police Band Training Grounds. It is here also that players have their training every Saturday and Sunday 2.00-5pm and 4.00-6.00pm during weekdays. Currently, FISA has over 100 players playing under the following categories: U.8, U.10, U.12, U.14, U.16, U.18 and U.23.
