Express Soccer academy is one of the best leading soccer academies in Kenya, based in Nairobi the academy has two programs School Based and Saturday programs both for boys and girls. The academy has been in existence since 2012 and it boost of having the best coaches in the country who have undergone training in various football development skills. The academy delivers both introductory and competitive soccer pro-grams to school children in fun and safe soccer environment in Nairobi.

Express soccer was founded in September 2011 by coach Maurice Mbowo who is also the academy’s Director assisted by a group of highly trained and experienced honorary Volunteer advisory board members.

Weekend Training Program

Express soccer academy’s coaching runs weekly (on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon). The coaching sessions are programmed to meet every player’s skill level. Sessions are run by professional coaches who are used to working with, and bring out the best in children.

The coaches develop self-confidence and self-esteem through encouragement and positive reinforcement.

All children are catered for, from the absolute beginner to the more experienced players.

Training sessions are structured to coincide with school terms and run for 10 – 12 weeks. The courses are normally split in age groups, with each group session lasting for about 2 to 3 hours as indicated in our training curriculum.

It is possible for a younger, but more advanced, player to participate in an older age group to help improve their skills.

Each sessions includes a number of competitions, tacticaland technique trainings, both individual and team, to help develop the skills and ability of each individual player, and the overall performance of the team and the academy.

The weekend coaching center is at Hillcrest Pre-school, along Langata road.

School-Based Training Program

Trainings take place once/twice a week; each training session takesabout 1 hour, depending on the age group. Our coaches are available on Monday through Friday. Currently, the after-school soccer coaching is conducted at The Banda school, Hillcrest Pre-school & Langata PCEA Schools.

Parents are advised to sign up for school based soccer coaching and Saturday which offers more prolonged training..

Wednesday: 3:30pm to 4:30pm
Grouping: U6 and U7

Thursday: 12:30pm to 1pm
Grouping: N1, N2 and Reception

Grouping: Under U6, U7, U9, U11 and U13.

Thursday: 2.30pm to 3.10pm
Grouping: U4, U5

Thursday: Time: 3pm to 4pm
Grouping: U 6 and 7(5-7 Years old)

Thursday: 4pm to 5 pm
Grouping: U9, U11 and U13(8-13 years old)Groupings done according to age and playing abilities.

Parents Training Program

The academy has formulated a program tailor made for Express Soccer parents who wish to exercise and ex as they wait for their kids to finish up with their soccer training. Fun activities like Aerobics, Yoga and light soccer training among others are planned for the program. Parents shall be expected to sign up for this program with Ksh.5, 000 at our reception desk on Saturdays. Kindly feel free to get in touch with us for more details on this.

FIT 4 LIFE PROGRAMS

Express soccer Academy is introducing FIT 4 LIFE program for adults. The present study examined the relationship between health risks and neurocardiac function in young adults and adults in general. It includes day to day behaviors and functions of individuals in job, activities, fun and diet. Related factors to individual health and quality of life are correlated to lifestyle. Millions of people follow an unhealthy lifestyle. Hence, they encounter illness, disability and even death. Problems like metabolic diseases, joint and skeletal problems, cardio-vascular diseases, hypertension, overweight, violence and so on, can be caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. The relationship of lifestyle and health should be highly considered.

Goalkeeper Training Program

The main characteristic of a goalkeeper is courage.

Our philosophy is that courage by itself will not make a save. Instead, We believe since the goalkeeper is a soccer player with a unique position, the goalkeeper needs to be technically and tactically trained according to its unique position.

This is why at Express soccer we focus our goalkeeping training on two levels of training:

Our level 1

Training for the less experience goalkeeper with the need to learn and/or improve in the technical aspect of proper standing, handling (catching), diving, back pass, breakaways and distribution.

Level 2:

Training for the more mature experience goalkeeper with the need of developing and understanding the technical/tactical function of the goalkeeper in the game and as part of the team. The total understanding of angles, ball line and maximum exposure concept will be discussed and trained as well as per the 1st, 2nd and 3rd goal situations.

Holiday Training Program

Express Soccer Acdemy training program usually runs concurrently with the school calendar, for three months per season. When the season comes to an end, we usually organize a holiday soccer camp that runs for two weeks or more on weekdays, Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 12.00pm.

This is a great opportunity for our players to train more, work on perfecting their skills, work on their weak points and to maintain their great form ahead of the next season.

Details concerning this coming holiday camp will be shared in good time before the training season comes to a close.

Private Training Program

Private training is now being offered by the academy upon formal request. Coaching will be available upon request on weekdays from 4.30pm- 5.30 p.m. and weekends in the afternoon.

Local & Regional Tournaments

Express soccer teams will attend additional tournaments during the soccer year. These tournaments provide high level competition in and out of the country, expose our teams to high school, international and college coaches and talent scouts and offer a way for our teams to spend time off the field with each other.With guidance from the Academy Director, and our lead coaches select these tournaments with appropriate level of competition, affordability, and availability of players in mind.Here are the three main Local and Regional Tournaments that we usually participate in:

International Tournaments, Scouting & Pro-Training Camps

The sole reason for the existence of Express Soccer Academy is to develop and nature the skills of our players from right when they join the academy. In addition to the friendly matches we organize with our neighboring clubs, the local and regional tournaments that we sign them up for, we also expose them to a more competitive arena by participating in Soccer Pro-Training Camps and Tournaments in Europe.

After the games are through, we usually have a chance to tour the cities, have fun in amusement parks and go shopping as well attending cultural events in the respective counties hence impacting a lot in our players.

How to Register

The following are ways in which you can register your child/children to Express soccer academy. Please follow the best method that suits your needs. The Seasonal Form applies for January-March, May-July and September to November

Visit our offices in Karen along seminary drive, opposite Gallery Gardens any day from Monday to Friday or our training facility at Hillcrest Prep-School on Saturday from 9.00am to 1.00pm and fill in a registration form at our reception desk.

SCHOOL BASED SOCCER COACHING:

Registration is done at the school. Register and make the payments at the school. All the schools have payments policy.

Admissions Policy

ADMISSION AND TRAINING GUIDELINES.

Express Soccer Academy recruits players/ children between the age of 4-15 years old. Upon filling the registration form and medical record form the players are grouped according to their abilities for a season before being moved to another category. i.e Kifuru, Ndovu, Simba and eventually Stars.

Our school based and weekend training is done in secure and safe environment.

Ages 4-7 years train for 45 minutes per session. Water and health breaks are allowed. The whole training time is as from 9am-11amAges 8-15 years train for 1hour 30 minutes per session. The training runs from 9am to 12noon.All the training plans must be approved by the technical director and a follow up sessions arranged with the coaches.Express Academy adopted a training curriculum for all categories (under 6, under 8 and under 15).Express sc conducts life skills or mentorship lessons before the start of each trainings.Express soccer Academy’s child protection policy must be adhered to by all employees, parents and other stakeholders all the time. Download the child protection from the website and read accordingly for your review and understanding.All players must be in Express kits, proper football shoes and shin guards in all the training sessions.Membership card must be produced in all sessions.For quality assurance, a coach will only handle 15 players in a session.

Training Fee

Express Soccer Academy has adopted the following revised rates for season 18.

Choose a training program:-

  – Saturday Training Ksh.8,500.
  – Sunday Training Ksh.8,500.
  – Saturday and Sunday Ksh.12,500.
  – School Based & Saturday Training Ksh.12,500.

The Academy will only accept payments through the following:-

  – Application/ registration: Ksh.1,000 for new parents
  – Termly tournament participation fee: Ksh.500
  – Uniform: Ksh.2,500 per pair (Home & away)
