The duration of the full time program shall be a minimum of four (4) semesters equivalent to two academic years and a maximum of eight (8) semesters equivalent to four academic years.
The duration of the part time program shall be a minimum of six (6) semesters equivalent to three academic years and a maximum of twelve (12) semesters equivalent to six academic years.
An academic year shall consist of two semesters of 15 weeks each.
The course shall be divided into two parts: Part I consisting of course work and Part II devoted to research leading to a thesis.
In Part I, students shall be required to take all the prescribed courses.
The course shall be conducted through lectures, practicum/field visits, tutorials and seminars and assessed by continuous assessments and end of semester examinations. A student shall only proceed to the next year of study after successful completion of the first year.
The University examinations shall be held at the end of each semester for the course taught in that semester
Admission Requirements
- The Common Rules and Regulations for Masters Degrees of the University of Nairobi shall apply.
- Applicants eligible for admission into the programme shall have the following minimum qualifications.
- Holders of Bachelor of Pharmacy degree of the University of Nairobi.
- Registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board or with the relevant regulatory body.
- Holders of any equivalent qualification from institutions recognized by Senate of the University of Nairobi.

Applications open in April every year and you should try to submit an application as soon as possible after that date.

An application fee must be paid for every application, except in the case of most graduates of UON. Please refer to the fee structure for more information.
SUBMITTING RESULTS AND DOCUMENTS
Current learners at school must make sure that all examination results from class 8 tp form four are submitted.
Transferring students should submit all transcripts and academic records as early as possible.
