Responsibilities
Step 1: Get Microsoft Certified
It is important for us to get the very best talent onboard and give you the best opportunity for success. Therefore, we are sponsoring a certification exam on Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) which ALL applicants need to sit for before September 30th 2019. Spaces on the certification programme are limited and certification vouchers are issued on a first come, first served basis. This is a unique opportunity, so don’t waste any time and get yours now!
Once you apply, you will receive the necessary training information required to help you prepare for certification. Overall, you need to understand cloud development using the Microsoft Azure cloud. This will take you through the various cloud services on Microsoft Azure as well as a practical on deploying virtual machines, web applications, PaaS, SaaS etc. It’s Exciting!
From the moment of application, you shall have one month to prepare for this certification. We will provide you with the learning material, as well as the vouchers to sit for the exam so it will only require your time and effort and no monitory cost. The exam MUST be taken on or before September 30th, 2019.

Step 2: Get shortlisted for the Apprenticeship programme
Candidates who complete and pass the Azure certification, will be shortlisted for an opportunity to join the Nanyuki AppfactoryApprentice programme. As an apprentice in the AppFactory programme you’ll be part of a development team responsible to deliver “real” projects to “real” clients. This position is best suited for someone who is seriously interested in intensive learning, enjoys bringing their own perspectives and ideas to the table and work hard on delivering a quality product to the client.
Must have:
In order to qualify for the apprenticeship, you must first successfully complete a certification in Microsoft Azure fundamentals. More details on this below:
- Kenyan citizenship
- Passionate about software development, writing clean code, continuous learning and want to become a professional developer
- Have a firm understanding of the basics of coding and can code those basics
- Good problem-solving skills
- Loves continuous learning
Nice to have:
A degree in the relevant field of software development will be advantageous. The candidate can also have only a matric have done a few courses in software development but should have a firm understanding of the basics.
- Working knowledge and experience of preferably C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XAML, Git, Visual Studio IDE
- Shows an entrepreneurial personality and spirit
- Display side projects, up-to-date code examples, or open-source modules
