Kenyatta University Teaching Referral and Research Hospital is in the process of constructing an Integrated Molecular Imaging Centre (IMIC) and intends to fill the following positions for the project team on a fixed term contract.
CIVIL AND STRUCTURAL ENGINEER – KUTRRH/IMIC/DCSACSE/247 – 1 POST
Position Description
The Civil and Structural Engineer is involved in engineering design, project costing, project management, and
construction supervision.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and/or modification of Civil/Structural engineering calculations, Civil/Structural engineering plans, design, and layout, Civil/Structural project specifications and civil/Structural engineering portion of project cost estimates
- Design structures and Structural Capacity of the new
- Prepare structural drawings
- Performing structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience
- Supervise contracts during the project implementation
- Coordinating work with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc
- Monitoring and inspection of the construction to ensure compliance with approval conditions, design parameters and industrial standards.
- Co-ordinate and consult with other members of the projects, including Environmental Scientists, Architects, Project Manager, Quantity Surveyors, Mechanical Engineers and Electrical Engineers.
- Preparation and filing of accurate reports of ongoing projects
Qualifications
- Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering from a University recognized in Kenya;
- Be registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya
- Have demonstrated professional competence and administrative ability in the line of duty;
- Must have extensive experience in design and works supervision of structures and associated civil works for at least 5 years
