Machogu Releases KUCCPS Placement Results; How To Check

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has formally announced the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) placement results for the academic year 2023/2024.

Machogu stated during Monday’s event that KUCCPS evaluated the 2022 KCSE cohort’s applications based solely on choice and merit.

According to Machogu, only 285,698 of the 870,561 candidates eligible for placements in universities and colleges submitted applications for placements through the KUCCPS portal.

Out of the applicants, 285,167 were accepted to degree, diploma, and arts programs at 282 training institutions.

“140,107 were placed in university programs, of which 130,484 were placed in public universities and 9,622 were placed in private universities,” he explained.

“144,500 were placed in TVETs, while 560 were placed in secondary teacher preparation colleges.” 9,673 degree-eligible students elected to enrol in TVET institutions.

All students can access their information by transmitting their KCSE index numbers via text message to 20842. The outcomes will also be posted on the KUCCPS website.

In the meantime, Machogu encouraged qualified Kenyans to apply to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and 32 primary teacher training colleges.

The applications, whose deadline is August 4, 2023, are open to those who have passed the KCSE examination between 2013 and 2022.
