KNEC Announces Hiring of Teachers for Assessment of KCSE Oral and Practical Papers

The Kenya National Examinations Council is seeking secondary school teachers and college instructors to assess KCSE oral and practical tests.

Between June 6 and July 28, the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education will be evaluated.

The qualified professionals will be instructed on the job during the assessment of the 2023 KCSE papers.

“Teachers and tutors who are already in the KNEC database of assessors need not apply.”

Professional KCSE examiners will evaluate tests such as Power mechanics, Electricity, Aviation technology, French oral, German oral, Arabic oral, music practical, and Kenyan sign language practical.

Teachers who are interested and qualified must be under 50 years old and have at least three years of experience.

They should possess subject-matter expertise and be registered with or employed by the Teachers Service Commission or a recognized professional organization.

In addition, they must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in education or the relevant field of specialization.

The applicant for aviation technology must have a degree in aeronautical engineering.

Applicants have been exhorted to visit the KNEC examiners’ portal for information on the application process and other relevant details.

“The slots are limited and only qualified applicants who have presented all the required documents will be shortlisted for the exercise,” reads the advertisement.

The opportunity to participate in the assessment of KCSE oral and practical papers is now open to Secondary School teachers and college tutors in Kenya.
