KCPE, KPSEA, KILEA and KCSE Exams Period

This is TSC Circular on Nomination of 2023 Centre Managers, Supervisors and Invigilators for 2023 KCPE, KPSEA, KILEA and KCSE Exams.

The Kenya National Examinations Council will administer KCPE, KPSEA, KILEA and KCSE examinations and assessments during the months of October and  November  2023. These examinations and assessments are scheduled to start on 23rd October and end on 24th November 2025. The table below  highlights  when  the  examinations  and  assessments will be administered:

2.0 In preparation for the administration of these examinations and assessments, the Kenya National Examinations Council will require the details of all the centre managers, supervisors and invigilators who will be engaged in the activity.

Z.0 This is to request you to identify, nominate and vet centre managers, supervisors, and invigilators to be engaged in the administration of these examinations and assessments. Thereafter, you are required to deploy them into the CP2 system by 29th October 2023.

4.0   Ensure that you adhere to the following during recruitment:

4. I Deploy only qualified teachers of high integrity who are employed and registered by the Commission.

4.2 Supervisors and invigilators should not be deployed to Centres in which they have a vested interest. The supervisors, invigilators and centre managers will therefore be required to declare any conflict of interest in the examination centre they are deployed to. The KNEC will email the declaration form to Sub County Directors for printing and distribution to supervisors and invigilators to declare interest, the Centre Managers will then file the declaration of interest forms for future reference;

4.3 Centre managers will be required to verify supervisors and invigilators posted in their centres and confirm their details and work station then take attendance on a daily basis;

4.4 Teachers for stage-based pathways will invigilate their own learners. For every 10 learners, there should be one invigilator. These invigilators will also be required to sign a declaration form. No supervisor or Centre Manager will be deployed for KILEA Centres;

4. For every 200 candidates, deploy one supervisor; no supervisor should be deployed for hosted and KPSEA centres except for centres with KPSEA candidates only;

  • For every 20 candidates, deploy one You are required to deploy invigilators to hosted and KPSEA centres based on the number of candidates in the examination centre;

Both hosted and hosting centres must have their own centre managers. However, the hosting centre manager will be expected to collect and return examination materials from the container;

  • Deputy head teachers will be nominated as centre managers for KPSEA examination centres where an examination centre has both KCPE and KPSEA. However, the Headteacher of the examination centre will be expected to collect and return examination materials from the container;
  • NO supervisor or invigilator will be deployed in a school they have served in the last three years;
  • Only supervisors and Invigilators who have registered in the CP2 system will be deployed to manage the 202Z National Examinations;
  • Invigilators for the KCSE examination to be secondary schools However, where there are few secondary schools in a sub-county, the sub-county director should ensure deployment is done in accordance with KNEC rules and regulations;
