CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR OLD TESTAMENT STUDIES FACULTY

The Theological Seminary of the Adventist University of Africa announces a faculty position in Old Testament. The successful applicant should be willing to take up the position by May 1, 2019.

Qualifications and Skills Required: 
1. An Earned Doctoral degree (PhD) in Old Testament Studies with cognate in any of the following areas: (i) Mission, (ii) Applied Theology, (iii) Adventist Studies, (iv) Theological Studies, (v) Church History.
2. Competent to teach and direct graduate studies and research in Old Testament Exegesis and Theology
3. Able to work with students and faculty in a variety of cultures and ethnic backgrounds in an international setting.

Required Work Experience: 
1. Minimum of five years of ministerial experience. 
2. A holder of ministerial credential of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Candidates not carrying a current endorsement from the division BMTE should apply immediately for endorsement.
3. Loyal to the message and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church evidenced by membership and active involvement in a local church.
4. Preferably a minimum of six (5) years of full-time university teaching experience, three of which should be at the graduate level.
5. Scholarly presentations and publications (at least six academic publications in the discipline). 
6. Evidence of Supervision of thesis and dissertation.

Duties:
1. Teach courses in Old Testament exegesis and Theology to assist in the area of cognate as may be required.
2. Advise Master’s and PhD thesis and dissertations as would be assigned.
3. Serve in thesis and dissertation committees of the Seminary. 
4. Engage in community service.
5. Perform any other assigned responsibilities by the university.

Method of Application: All applications should be submitted to the Human Resources Office of the University with certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts, portfolio detailing academic qualifications, work experience, research and publications, and family data. In addition, three recommendations: two from university administrators and one from a church administrator should accompany the application.

The Theological Seminary of the Adventist University of Africa announces a faculty position in Systematic Theology. The successful applicant should be willing to take up the position as soon as possible. 

Qualifications and Skills Required:
1. An Earned Doctoral degree (PhD) in Systematic Theology with a cognate in Adventist Heritage, Applied Theology or Church History.
2. Competent to teach and direct graduate studies and research in Systematic Theology and Adventist Heritage or Applied Theology.
3. Able to work with students and faculty in a variety of cultures and ethnic backgrounds in an international setting.

Required Work Experience:
1. Minimum of five years of ministerial experience.
