Teachers Service Commission, TSC, To Review Salary And Allowances O All Senior Teachers Starting This Date
Senior teachers in both Public primary and secondary schools have a reason to smile following the latest announcement from TSC.
News from reliable sources indicate that the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) might review their salary and allowances soon in this year.
According to TSC Chief Executive Officer Dr Nancy Macharia this category of teachers play a pivotal role in all public schools and therefore deserves to be payed well.
In primary schools senior teachers fall in Job grade C5 and they are set earn Ksh 64,631 in the proposed salary increment, an increment Ksh 17000. At the moment they earn Ksh 47,896 shillings per month.
Senior teachers in secondary schools will earn Ksh 157,656 in the proposed salary increment. Their current salary stands at Ksh 115,163.
Dr Macharia further said that the commission will also review salary of all other teachers upwards.
She further says that the salary increment for teachers has already been captured in the 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
