Chiromo Funeral Parlour is run and managed by the University of Nairobi. It is the oldest mortuary science training institute in Kenya.

At the institution, students are trained on documentation, body receiving procedure, dressing, dispatch of the body and on how to deal with bereaved clients, how to respond to their questions, guidance and counselling.

Kenyatta University’s School of Medicine has introduced a training program for those interested in mortuary science. The course is offered in collaboration with the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital.

3. Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital

The hospital runs an accredited training school that was recently elevated to MTRH College of Medicine. It began in 2004 as an enrolled community nurse training centre. In 2009, other training programs started being offered.
