Gaza

This is a ruthless criminal gang which is based in Kayole. According to a detective who once spoke to Capital FM Kenya, the Gaza gang operates like the dreaded Mungiki and are armed with guns – real and homemade – and swords. The majority of gang members according to police are women, whose role includes carrying firearms and ‘intelligence’ sharing. Gaza’s main target is financial points like M-PESA shops, hospitals and at times churches.

Super Power Gang 

This is one of the most dangerous gangs in Eastleigh, Nairobi. Its followers are mostly teenagers, some still in school whose criminal activities range from murder, mugging, pickpocketing to violent robbery – which at times includes stabbing their victims. Super Power Gang mostly targets mobile phones, cash, and jewellery, and motor spares.

42 Brothers

This deadly gang operates in Korogocho, Kasarani, Tassia and Soweto Bridge where they mug and rob pedestrians’ money and valuables.  They operate in a group of 10 people which is well connected with the bosses at the police forces.

Tsunami

Tsunami is usually armed with daggers and guns have been robbing people in broad daylight as police drag in taking action. They operate in a group of five their major meeting points being outside National Archives and Tom Mboya statue along Moi Avenue. Others include Sunken Car Park along Harambee Avenue, Kenyatta Avenue and Kimathi Street junction as well as major matatu termini.

Hapana Tambua Takataka

Most members of this gang live in different estates around Nairobi such as Majengo, Zimmerman, Dandora, Kariobangi and Huruma. They are armed and ready to shoot if provoked. While some have already been shot dead, others are still roaming in Nairobi.
