Okiya Omtatah

– Busia Okiya Omtatah isn’t a strange name among Kenyans.

He is one of the most renowned activists in Kenya, with numerous court cases that some wouldn’t dare handle.

During the general election, Okiya Omtatah vied under the National Reconstruction Alliance (NRA) party. He won Busia’s senatorial seat after getting 164,478 votes.

Johnes Mwaruma – Taita

-Taveta Johnes Mwaruma won the Taita Taveta senatorial seat under the Orange Democratic party. He beat his closest rival, outgoing Sagala MCA Godwin Kilele of Jubilee, with 39,142 votes.

Stewart Madzayo – Kilifi

Stewart Madzayo retained his seat as the senator of Kilifi County, the 7th most populous county in Kenya, behind Meru. In 2021, he was appointed the new Senate Deputy Minority leader following the ouster of Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala.

Moses Otieno Kajwang is the current senator for Homa Bay County and a member of the Orange Democratic Movement.

The senator was born into a family of politicians. His elder brother, Gerald Otieno Kajwang (who died in 2014), served as a member of parliament for seventeen years. Before becoming a senator, Moses worked for fourteen years in the financial and supply chain industries.

Ledama Ole Kina – Narok

Ledama Ole Kina was re-elected as the senator for Narok County in the August 9, 2022, polls.

He beat the incumbent governor Samuel Tunai by garnering 135,180 votes. Ole Kina is one of the most vocal in the Senate and the ODM party and has stood out as a staunch politician over the years.

Oburu Odinga – Siaya

He attained 285,595 votes to defeat other candidates in the senatorial race to become Siaya’s senator-elect. Oburu is the Kenya member of parliament for the East African Legislative Assembly in Arusha, Tanzania. Richard Onyonka – Kisii

Richard Onyonka previously held the Kitutu Chache MP seat. He is now the incoming senator for Kisii County.
