How To Check Political Party Membership Status Online In Kanya

There are two platforms a Kenyan voter can now verify their party membership status. First is through the new website www.orpp.or.ke with a provision of  “check your membership status” at the right-hand corner. A registered voter simply inputs the identification or passport number with which they registered. The simplest way is via telephone SMS short code (which will be provided soon).

  1. Visit the registrar of the political party portal.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on verify membership registration to check on your party members.
  3. You will then be redirected to the e-citizen portal. Log in to your e-citizen account to proceed using your ID. If you do not have an e-citizen account, click here to read how to create an account (we can insert a link to our article on creating an e-citizen account)
  4. And that is how you log in to the ORPP portal. You will see a landing page entailing the services offered by the office of the registrar of political parties. These services include political party membership status, political party membership registration, and political party membership resignation.
  5. Click on political membership status to check whether you have been registered to a political party. Alternatively, you can log in to e-citizen using your ID number and password, then click on the ORPP service. You will then be redirected to step 4 above.

If the results come back that you have not been registered to any political party, you can either choose to register as one by selecting political party membership registration.
