How To Change Polling Stations In Kenya

It’s now possible to change polling stations even days before the 2022 general elections.

For instance, if you want to change from Nairobi to Bungoma, you are required to go to Bungoma and specifically the IEBC constituency office and request to change.

The process is simple and only possible if you are a registered voter.

The only challenge is to trace the constituency office where registration and transfer are taking place.

“Clarification: Voters wanting to change their polling details are advised to visit the IEBC constituency Office they wish to change to.

IEBC iko Mtaani. Jiandikishe Sasa!” Chebukati said while addressing journalists in early 2022.

Many Kenyans would like to change their polling stations this year and they are requested to change as early as possible to avoid last-minute scramble.

Registration centres become polling centres during elections.

The IEBC has 24,559 registration centres across 290 constituencies.

These registration centres become polling centres during elections. Continuous voter registration is going on at constituency offices.

It will be rolled out to Wards and registration centres once funds are available to carry out the exercise.

It should be noted that the ongoing registration of voters is an incremental exercise. We register only those who were not registered in the run-up to the General Elections in 2013.
