other disciplines, whether industrial, health, social, or economic. Biology is
an essential component of the curricula for most of the technological subject areas that TU-K offers
Food Science and Technology is a specialized application of biological sciences, and borrows heavily from biology, chemistry and biochemistry. It gives a crucial link between food, nutrition and health. Food professionals develop technological innovative applications in biotechnology for development and processing of foods. The department trains technicians, technologists and technical managers in the food industry.
Admission Requirement
KCSE C+ with at least C+ in Mathematics, Geography, Chemistry and Biology, or TU-K Diploma in Technology in Environmental Resource
Management
C + Mean grade (in addition, C+ in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry,
or TU-K Diploma in Technology (Food Science and Technology)
