ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum entry age: seventeen (17) completed years.
Minimum academic requirements:
KCSE C (Plain)

Cluster Subjects

English /Kiswahili – C

Biology / Biological Sciences – C

Mathematics / Chemistry / Physics – C-

• Physically and mentally fit to undertake nursing training and practice.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
DIPLOMA
Trainees entering diploma course should have the following minimum requirements:-
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E) with a Mean grade of C, or equivalent, and in addition a minimum grade of C in the following: –

Biology and/or Biological Sciences

Chemistry

English or Kiswahili

Mathematics or Physics/Physical Sciences

Or Credit Transfer
A candidate holding a Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution, with at least two years working experience in relevant field.
And Registered by KMLTTB as technician.

Training

The health sector is facing dynamic transformation with devolution of health care to the counties. Consequently, there is an increase in demand for healthcare professionals including Public health officers.

At TSMHS, training of a public health officer takes 9 trimesters or 3 years which will include both theory and practical.

Inclusive of 930 hours of clinical practice, the program provides a well-rounded combination of theory instruction and practical training from which the student can continually develop and apply their knowledge to skilled tasks or proper assessment procedure.

Admission requirements

The minimum requirement for admission for Diploma in Community Health and Development Is C- in Kenya Certificate in Secondary Education or its equivalent as ascertained with the ministry of Education and any other certified certificate from other institutions.

Exceptions and Credit transfers shall be considered by the college.
