Home Solutions
Domestic Package Insurance
This is the most recent development in Domestic Insurance. It is designed to cover the owner/occupier for the buildings and contents, owner’s liability, personal liability and Workmen Compensation.
Personal Accident
The policy covers the insured against losses suffered as a result of an accident. The benefits are in various categories e.g. death, permanent total disablement, permanent partial disablement, temporary total disablement and medical expenses.
Motor
The policy covers the insured against financial losses that he may incur in the event that his motor vehicle is involved in an accident.
The types of policies that may be issued in this respect are:
- Third Party cover
This is the minimum legal insurance requirement in Kenya according to Cap 405. It covers the insured’s liability with regard to property damage and bodily injury to a Third Party arising from his motor vehicle. - Comprehensive cover
This covers the liabilities covered in the Third Party policy as well as material damage arising from fire, theft and accidental damage to the motor vehicle

Burglary Insurance
The policy covers loss resulting from forcible entry or exit into or out of the insured’s building/premises.
Electronic Equipment Insurance
This policy covers material damage for many types of low and medium electrical equipment like:-
Electrical data processing equipment including computers of all types, external data media e.g. Punched cards, tapes etc. Electrical and radiation equipment for medical use. Communication facilities.
Other miscellaneous equipment, television equipment used for industrial purposes, film and television equipment, analyzing facilities, electronic microscopes, time keeping devices, paging and signalling systems.
It also covers loss of information suffered by external media used in computing facilities (software) and additional expenses for computer operation which arise if the insured’s computer breaks down and arrangement of hired computing facilities become necessary (Increased cost of working)
Marine Insurance
Marine is a class of business that undertakes insurance on imports related to :-
- Cargo aboard a ship aircraft
- Cargo in transit within the country from port of discharge to final destination (Warehouse).
The cover involves transit by sea, air, rail or road. Depending on the insured’s specific needs, different covers exist:
Marine Open Cover Insurance
Cover effected on declaration basis for cargo aboard a ship or aircraft. Policies issued remain ‘open’ until the limit, per vessel; aircraft or conveyance is exhausted. The insured will be declaring every shipment as and when undertaken.
Marine Time on Risk Insurance
This covers goods on short period basis only and transit can be either by sea, air of on land. The period of insurance is very specific.
Marine Voyage Cover Insurance
It covers goods from one place to another irrespective of time taken for a very specific consignment.
Marine Mixed Cover Insurance
It combines the open cover and time on risk insurance. It specifies the voyage and period of time.
Money Insurance
This policy covers money, which unless otherwise stated means currency, coins, and bank cheque, money orders, postage and revenue stamps against loss arising.
