About Foundation Institute of Africa

Foundation Institute of Africa (FIA) was founded in 2007 as a non-profit making tertiary training institution that seeks to assist needy and deserving youth with limited financial resources acquire quality subsidized higher education. The institution takes pride in having helped over 5000 youths from across the country nature their futures through our sponsorship programs. Foundation Institute of Africa thus aims at bridging the gap in education, by ensuring poverty does not come in the way of any Kenyan youth acquiring quality education.

The institution further acknowledges the high number of youths shun off by the limited intakes in universities, which often leaves approximately 80% of youths who sit for KCSE struggling to nature their futures. FIA thus encourages youths with limited financial resources who seek to further their studies to apply for our quality yet highly subsidized diploma and certificate courses that allow them to enroll for degree courses upon successful completion.

Besides offering scholarships to youths, the institution seeks to make significant contributions in community development through offering special courses aimed at solving various challenges in learning environments including drug and substance abuse, Safety and security, HIV Awareness et al.

FIA in collaboration with the Ministry of Education also takes pride in having offered Early Childhood Development Education scholarships worth at least 59 million shillings to over 6,000 teachers from across the country. This is in efforts aimed at complimenting the government’s efforts and commitment towards mainstreaming, improving and sustaining basic quality education.

ACCREDITATIONS

Foundation Institute of Africa is registered by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology as a certified institute of higher education, and further registered as a certified teachers training College by the Ministry of Education under Certificate of Registration Number 416.

The institute is an approved examination centre for Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) and Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB) examining bodies as well as ICM.

The institute is currently pursuing to have Law courses validated by the Council for Legal Education (CLE).
