University of Kabianga Lancaster University And Partners Workshop 2019

University of Kabianga has initiated a strong partnership with Lancaster University of UK. Together with other collaborators; University of Manchester, ILRI and CIFOR, they are implementing a joint Research Project “Restoring African Degraded Landscapes with Plant Biodiversity and Livestock Management” The two year Project which will end on 31st March 2021 will be done in Kericho and Kisumu Counties.  Mr Joseph Hitimana (Ag Dean School of Natural Resource & Environmental Management at the University of Kabianga) is among the lead team that will see the Project achieve its expected goal of Restoring Degraded Grazing Grasslands in Kenya and Africa at large.

This was revealed in an Inaugural Workshop that took place on 29th October 2019 at the University of Kabianga Senate Chambers and officially opened by the University’s VC Prof Kipng’eno. Also present in the Workshop were; the DVC PR&D Prof Oduor, DVC AS&A Prof Omwenga, HODs and Staff from the School of Natural Resources among other Staff.

Exchange of MOU’s between the partners UoK and Lancaster University and UoK and Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) were done before the workshop began.
