The purpose of this course is to enhance students’ competencies in designing and developing social studies curricula that are responsive to diverse learner needs and in evaluating existing curricula for relevance and application.
Expected Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, the student should be able to:
1. Design social studies curricula that are appropriate to the goals of their diverse student groups.
2. Analyze international trends in the development of social studies curricula
3. Evaluate existing social studies curricula for relevance and application
4. Design instructional materials in social studies reflecting what is known about appropriate content, student learning, and use of technology.
