UDPTE SBA Timetable, Instructions And Guidelines

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1.1 KNEC will offer School-Based Assessment (SBA) to teacher trainees undertaking the upgrade programme for the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) and who were registered by their respective colleges.
1.2 Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) will access the tools by logging in to the KNEC portal
https://cbate.knec.ac.ke using the assigned college username and password.
1.3 The Upgrade Programme for the DPTE SBA subjects with project/practical components and their
corresponding instructions where applicable shall be uploaded in the KNEC portal https://cbate.knec.ac.ke on 3rd May 2024 for colleges to download and administer between 6th May and 31st May 2024. Written assessments will be administered through the CBATE e-assessment system from 27th to 31st May 2024.
1.4 The Teacher Trainers shall be required to score the assessments as indicated in the timetable.
1.5 Scoring guides/marking schemes for learning areas with Project and practical components shall be uploaded alongside the assessment tools.
1.6 TTCs shall upload the teacher trainee’s assessment scores for project/practical in the CBATE portal by 31st July 2024.
1.7 Principals are requested to maintain proper records of all trainees’ assessment outcomes.
1.8 The materials required for undertaking the assessment tasks should be obtained from the immediate college environment or improvised as much as possible.
1.9 You are requested to bring this information to the attention of all the teacher trainers and teacher trainees taking part in the upgrade programme in your college.
