Teaching just like any other profession has its code of regulations to be followed by the teachers. As a profession, teaching is regarded as among the disciplined professions across the world. This is due to the fact that the teachers are expected to be role models for the students.

In Kenya, the Teachers Service Commission has been in the forefront in taking drastic measures against the teachers who go against the code of ethics and regulations. TSC does not hesitate in punishing the offenders. Many teachers have left the profession due to such punishments.

Kenyan education system is changing from the 8.4.4 to 2.6.3.3.3 system. The implementation is currently in grade four.KNEC has for the second time evaluated these learners just to know the strengths and weaknesses of the curriculum. At first, these learners were tested in 2019 when they were in grade three. They were also tested last term.

The CBC Taskforce has handed over the report. Drastic changes are coming. The government is unto task to ensure that sufficient structures are in place by the time the learners will transit to junior secondary schools. The taskforce has not left teachers in its recommendations. It will be hard for the teachers who have been abusing any form of drugs in their lives. Once found, that will be the end of the teacher. Many teachers are deep into alcohol that has led to chronic absenteeisms.Their days are now numbered. Apart from that, those who will be found abusing the school girls and boys will get no mercy. The recommendations have been forwarded to TSC for implementation. The teachers now have no option but to stick to their code of conduct.
