Just in. TSC 2022 June/July Recruitment Schedule For Interns/Permanent & Pensionable Positions.
Important Dates!

Qualified teachers have applied for the various teaching positions as advertised by the Teachers Service Commission on https://hrmis.tsc.go.ke/app/login, the Commission has confirmed that it will publish the names of shortlisted candidates on its official website.

The teacher’s employer (TSC)  has said that it will publish the shortlisted candidates on its official website from the 13th-15th July 2022.

This follows a recruitment drive that saw the commission advertise a total of 14,460 primary and secondary school teachers as well as 28 tutors for the Teacher Training Colleges.

Data from the teacher’s employer indicates that there are 345,316 teachers on its payroll. Out of these 345,316 tutors, 228,126 are primary school teachers while another 116,024 teach at secondary schools, and the remaining 1,166 offer teaching services at Teacher Training Colleges (TTC)

The Commission as it is is facing a severe teacher shortage. Data shows that it requires 114,581 additional teachers to fill in the gap. This is in the background of the country having trained at least 300.000 teachers who are yet to be employed by the commission!

Data has it that the commission has been purposing to recruit 10,000 teachers annually amidst budget constraints, a figure too small compared to the existing shortage as well as the 10,000 teachers who exit the service each year!

Out of these 10,000 teachers employed annually, a whopping 6,000 are employed for one year on internship, a renewable contract.
