TSC Announces 14,460 Teaching jobs To fill Teething Staffing Gaps

TSC Online Recruitment 2022; The Teachers Service Commission TSC has honoured its pledge to unemployed teachers especially teachers serving on internship contract terms and advertised 14,460 teaching posts to be filled in July/August 2022.

A total of 5000 teaching posts are a special preserve of teachers currently serving on internship terms who will soon be absorbed on permanent and pensionable terms especially now that the Commission awards them a whooping 20 marks giving them an edge when it comes to competing for limited TSC teaching vacancies.

The July 2022 TSC Recruitment will definitely attract thousands of applicants seeking TSC internship and mass Recruitment Vacancies owing to the hard economic times ushered by the covid 19 pandemic and the skyrocketing living standards.

The most recent TSC recruitment conducted last year saw over three hundred thousand applicants apply for the limited TSC Recruitment Vacancies.

The good news however is that the Commission will only absorb teachers with immeasurable working experience especially those currently serving on internship terms who have borne the blunt of harsh economic times by working for a pittance, a stipend not exceeding Kshs 20,000.

TSC To Release new Scoresheet for July 2022 Mass Recruitment

As per the norm, the Commission will definitely release a new score sheet for the upcoming July/August 2022 recruitment.

According to the latest TSC recruitment Scoresheet at our disposal, intern teachers still have an upper hand as opposed to their counterparts who have never been employed on contract terms.

Degree holders on the other hand are still disadvantaged since their mark is the same as diploma holders. Following the numerous comaints raised by applicants in the previous TSC recruitment exercise, the Commission promised to review it’s recruitment Scoresheet this year to favour degree holders.

According to the response given by the Commission on the equalization of marks for length of stay for both degree and diploma holders, the Commission had tied the marks to clear the backlog of diploma teacher graduates who has tarmacked for over five years without bagging TSC teaching jobs.

All applicants, irrespective of gender, disability, ethnicity or Home County should be given equal opportunity. However, in case of a tie, consideration will be given on the following aspects in their order of priority:

i) Applicant (s) with disability(ies);

ii) Service as a teacher intern;

iii) Preference to applicants who had not been previously employed by the Commission;

iv) Preference to applicants who graduated earlier;

v) If the applicants tie at the aggregate grade, the teaching practice grades should be used

The names of interviewed applicants ranked in order of performance during the selection process for each vacancy (Appendix iii) will then be submitted to the Commission by the County Director together with Application for Employment forms.

Applicants who were previously employed by the Commission MUST declare their past employment history and reason(s) for break in service (with evidence in

break in service). Applicants who were previously employed by the Commission and FAIL to declare their past employment shall be disqualified. However, preference will be given to applicants who have never been employed by the Commission.

TSC County Directors MUST ensure that Heads of Institutions confirm online registration status of the applicants to avoid engaging unregistered/deregistered teachers in the selection process.

2.0. AUTHENTICITY OF ACADEMIC, PROFESSIONAL AND OTHER RELEVANT DOCUMENTS

(a)Applicants must present original and legible photocopies of the following documents: –

National identification cards;

National Council of Persons with Disability (NCPWD) Card (where applicable);

Certificate of Registration as a teacher

KCPE (or its equivalent) Certificates (include certificates for attempts if one repeated exams);

KCSE (or its equivalent) Certificates (include certificates for attempts if one repeated exams);

Diploma/Degree Certificates and official transcripts;

Primary and Secondary Schools leaving certificates;

Evidence of service as a teacher intern (where applicable);

Sworn Affidavit where names in the submitted documents differ.

NB: Provisional transcript(s) shall not be accepted.

(b)The selection panel shall vet each applicant to verify that: –

(i) He/she meets the requirements of the TSC advertisement;

(ii) All submitted original academic and professional certificates, as well as official transcripts are authentic.

(iii) The proof of application for confirmation of results from KNEC has been availed where the certificates are missing.
