Taita Taveta University (TTU) is a fast-growing Institution located in Taita Taveta County on Voi-Mwatate road, about 8 kilometers from the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. It lies in a serene environment bordering Tsavo East National Park on the east and Tsavo West National Park on the North West, the home of the Red elephants.
Career & Mentorship Program After completion of their secondary education, most youth lack proper information of how they are going to successfully progress with their further studies amid many challenges in today’s world like STIs and HIV/AIDS, Drugs and Alcohol abuse, Career Choice, changing Technologies among others. This program is meant to bridge this gap.
The Purpose of the Program The purpose of the Career and Mentorship Program is to provide Secondary School Graduates with a smooth transmission from Secondary to tertiary education. Programme Duration and Structure Career and Mentorship Program shall be offered in four (4) weeks – Starting 29th July to 24th August, 2019; and it shall comprise of: class work made of six units and extracurricular activities. The six (6) units shall include- Computer applications; First Aid Training; Sex, Reproductive health and Sexually Transmitted Infections; Drugs and Substance Abuse; Career Guidance; Communication Skills and Personal Hygiene and Grooming
Extra-curricular activities include: daily afternoon sports (swimming, football, volleyball, netball, basketball among others); daily evening motivational talks and movies, weekends hike to Sagalla museum and forest, Tsavo West- Game Drive, fun at Diani Beach and Hike to Vuria Hill- the highest peak in Coastal Region.
