This is a boys-only public national boarding secondary school located in Mombasa, Kenya. The school was established in 1932 as a secondary school for Arab boys who successfully completed their primary school education at the Arab school, Mombasa. However, the Arab boys refused to enroll in the school since it was isolated from their parents and it was surrounded by a big forest infested with wild animals. It was also very far from Mombasa town, which did not sit so well with the Arab boys.
In 1939, the school was closed down due to World War 2. The British Army occupied the school and used it as a hospital till 1947 when the Coast African Association demanded that it be opened as a secondary school for Africans. The request was granted by the colonial Governor. The school was opened as the Coast Africa Secondary School. It later changed its name to its current one and was elevated to the national school category.
