CURRENT MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR
TEACHER TRAINING COURSES
The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, and Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) have released the latest guidelines for teacher trainees.
Anyone willing to pursue a teaching course must meet new minimum requirements for training and registration.
The new requirements outline the minimum subject and mean scores.
Here are the new requirements.
To pursue Diploma in Primary Education:
-Mean grade: C
-Mathematics C
-English C
-Kiswahili C
-Any humanity C
– Any science C
Diploma in Secondary Education:
-Mean grade: C+
C+ in two teaching subjects.
– Mathematics: D+ for those taking Arts and C for sciences.
– English: C
Degree in Secondary Education:
– Mean grade: C+
– C+ in two teaching subjects.
– Mathematics: D+ for those taking Arts and C for Sciences.
– English: C
