NECTA SFNA 2021
The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) will be announced the National Standard Four Examination Assessment (SFNA) results in the month of February. Last year in 2016 candidates recorded the highest performance in science and lowest in the English Language.
According to NECTA 977,886 pupils sat on November 25 and 26 last year, following the re-introduction of the exams. Dar es Salaam topped the national performance on regional category, Mwanza Alliance School emerge d tops in school category whereas Frank Christian Mgeta of Twibhoki Primary School in Mara emerged the overall best pupil.
Last year Std Four National Assessment (SFNA), the pupils did well in science subjects by 89.44 percent compared to the English Language whose performance was 65.67 percent.
Qualifications for standard four national assessment:
Candidates for Standard Four National Assessment (SFNA) shall have:-
(a) attended regularly at a registered school as prescribed by the Ministry; and
(b) attained basic skills of reading, writing and arithmetic.
The Standard Four National Assessment shall be graded to show the level of pupils’ attainment on compulsory subjects approved by the Minister. A candidate for standard four shall attain the required skills before proceeding to the subsequent standard.
The Council shall issue notification of “matokeo kidato cha nne 2021-2022” standard four national assessment in a manner to be prescribed by the Council.

The quantification for grade ranges at SFNA results shall be as follows:-
- (a) 75 – 100 = A – indicating excellent
- (b) 60 – 74 = B+ – indicating very good
- (c) 50 – 59 = B – indicating food
- (d) 40 – 49 = C – indicating the average
- (e) 30 – 39 = D – indicating satisfactory
- (f) 20 – 29 = E – indicating unsatisfactory
- (g) 0 – 19 = F – indicating the fail

National Examination Council Of Tanzania (NECTA) allow students to select the following subjects SFNA : Standard Four National Assessment exam . A. Kiswahili, English B. Social Knowledge (Maarifa ya Jamii), C. Mathematics (Hisabati) D. Science (Sayans) E. Work Skills (Stadi za Kazi), F. Interests and Games (Haiba na Michezo).
The main objective of SFNA is that pupils should this exam as a tool to improve score performance in the subjects in which they did not perform well and teachers should improve the pupils’ learning environment for even better results.

From 2016 the National Examination Council Of Tanzania (NECTA) developed online results system through official website (www.necta.go.tz). Now students of Tanzania can check their result online. Check below for step by step guide to get the result online.
- Step 1 : visit www.necta.go.tz
- Step 2: Find the “Result” in Main Menu and Click on “Search” from the submenu.
- Step 3: The “Search Result” window will appear shown below.
- Step 4: Select your “Year” as 2017
- Step 5: Select “Exam Type” as SFNA.
- Step 6: Enter Your “Candidate number” (SFNA)
- Final Step: Click on “Request” button.
- N.B.: Do not forget to save/download the necta form four results 2021/2021 for future reference.
