For admission into programmes of study at the Masai Technical Training Institute, TKNP for any first degree or second degree, an applicant must have the following requirements for successful admission.
MASAI TECHNICAL TRAINING INSTITUTE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
To join Masai Technical Training Institute to pursue a Certificate course, you must have a minimum of C- with specific qualifications in cluster subjects in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE). For Diploma programmes, you must have attained a minimum of C with specific qualifications in cluster subjects.
General admission requirements
Admission requirements for our diplomas, certificate and diploma courses
- KCSE result slip / Certificate or equivalent
- Two (2) coloured passport size photographs
- Copy of national ID, Passport or birth certificate
Overall, you need a minimum of KCSE mean grade of C- (minus) and above to enrol in the diploma courses. For the certificate courses, you need a minimum of KCSE mean grade D plain and above. For the electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering courses, the minimum requirements are a KCSE mean grade C- and above with a minimum of D+ (plus) in maths and physics. For the certificate courses, you need a minimum of KCSE mean grade D+ with a minimum of D plain in physics or mathematics.
COURSE SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Building and Civil Engineering Admission Requirements
- The courses that are offered in the department targets students who have completed and acquired O level certificate (KCSE) and passed in the required grades.
- For those enrolling in Diploma courses, a mean grade C- is sufficient while for certificate courses grade D is acceptable.
Hospitality and Institutional Management Admission Requirements
- To be admitted for Diploma you need to have a minimum grade of C-(Minus) and a minimum of D- to qualify for Certificate.
Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical and Electronic Engineering Admission Requirements
- To be admitted for a diploma course, you should have attained a minimum of C-(minus) in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or any other grade recognized by Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC). To qualify for a certificate course you should have attained a minimum of D (plain) in KCSE.
- Masai TTI sponsor ladies who enrol for the course.
- Upon completion of Diploma courses, one is able to join the world of work or advance his/her career by joining Government and Private Universities. Such a student joins at year two or three of study.
Business Courses Admission Requirements
- The minimum entry requirement is a D (PLAIN) for certificate courses and a C – (MINUS) for diploma courses.
