KNEC New Exams Requirements and Registration Centre

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is a body mandated with the responsibility of registering new examination centers.

New schools that wish to be registered as KNEC examination centres for the upcoming 2021 KCPE and KCSE examinations are required to submit the following documents to KNEC.

  • A certified copy of a valid registration certificate from the County Director of Education.
  • A duly filled inspection questionnaire from the Sub-County Director of Education.
  • Expired registration certificates will not be accepted.
  • A dully filled application form from the school.
  • The application MUST be accompanied with a payslip of;
  • Sh. 10,000/= (ten thousand shillings) for private schools.
    Sh. 1,000/= (one thousand shillings for public schools.

For new sub-counties that want to be allocated a KNEC code and coding of schools have to submit the following information to KNEC.

  • List of schools showing their previous codes and the proposed new codes,
  • A Kenya Gazette notice legalizing the creation of the Sub-County.
  • The Location facility (container) and details of the Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) or the Assistant Deputy County Commissioner (ADCC) office.

Examination centres that wish to present candidates for KCPE and KCSE 2021 should ensure that the information above reaches KNEC by tomorrow the 15th of June, 2021.

Registration of candidates for the 2021 KCPE, KCSE, and KCSE QT examinations started on the 2nd of June 2021 and shall end on the 31st of July, 2021.
