Job Summary

The Archive officer is responsible for the work including supporting records creation, designing systems, appraising, accessioning, preserving, describing, maintaining and providing access to records and archives. The Archive officer is aimed to keep the Bank’s Document on track and preserve it for the future use in case the Bank wants documents that have been used previously.

Responsibilities

  • Capture, analyze, organize and record information that serves to identify, manage, locate and explain archival materials and the context of records.
  • Create finding aids and other tools, to facilitate access to the informational content of records and archives.
  • Document the organizational, functional and operational context surrounding records’ creation, receipt, storage, or use, and its relationship to other records.
  • Maintain the physical control and security of records/archives in various formats (e.g. paper and digital) according to agreed processes and procedures
  • Supervise and provide training on the handling of records/archives by agencies, staff, public users and volunteers
  • Support transfers and deposits by advising on the handling and packaging of records and archives
  • Identify and provide advice on preservation issues and format specific risks for records and archives and liaise with preservation specialists.
  • Develop standards, guides, and other recordkeeping advice publications
  • Research, analyze and evaluate technical aspects of recordkeeping
  • Provide advice to government agencies, external and internal clients around records/ archives processes and procedures and best practice.
  • Manage sensitive or restricted records / archives within agreed conditions

Requirements
3.1 Qualifications:
Should Have a Diploma Computer Science, IT, Business or Public Administration or any other related field.
Archiving Experience is a plus

  • Ability to prioritize a heavy workload, travel and manage flexible working hours;
  • Have good PR/interpersonal skills, have outstanding communication and reporting skills, problem analysis and listening ability.

Job Requirements

Required education: Diploma, Associate’s degree
Required relevant work experience: 2 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
