The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released a statement advising supervisors, invigilators, and teachers to ensure that candidates adhere to the instructions and guidelines provided during the examinations.
The KNEC has urged all candidates to follow the instructions and guidelines carefully to avoid having their results cancelled.
Teachers and supervisors have also been advised to ensure that candidates clearly understand the instructions given and are aware of the penalties for assessment irregularities or misconduct.
KCPE TIMETABLE – 2023
Candidates have been cautioned to be punctual, arrive at the assessment room 15 minutes before the scheduled time, and ensure that their names and assessment numbers have been written correctly on the answer sheets.
They have also been warned against leaving the assessment room before the end of the allocated period for the paper except with special permission from the supervisor.
Candidates have been advised not to possess or have in their proximity any book, notes, papers, or any other materials except the correct question papers and materials expressly authorized by KNEC.
Any misconduct or causing of disturbance in or near the assessment room will be treated as an assessment irregularity, and candidates caught in possession of cell phones or any other electronic communication device will have their results cancelled.
The KNEC Act No. 29 of 2012 Offences and Penalties will apply in case of assessment irregularities, and candidates who commit an assessment irregularity in any paper will have the results for the whole subject cancelled.
