Cytonn Investments is an alternative investment manager, with real estate development capability, and a primary focus on private equity and real estate investments in the high growth Kenyan Region. Cytonn has a unique strategy of coupling two compelling demand areas – the lack of high yielding investment products due to the large banking spread, and the lack of institutional grade real estate; by providing high yielding instruments to attract funding from investors, and we deploy that funding to investment grade, well planned and comprehensive real estate developments that are largely pre-sold. With offices in Nairobi, Nakuru, Nyeri and Kisumu – Kenya and Washington, DC – USA, we are primarily focused on offering alternative investment solutions to global and local institutional investors, individual high net-worth investors, and diaspora investors interested in the East-African region.

Real estate investments are made through our development affiliate, Cytonn Real Estate, where we currently have over Kshs. 82 billion (USD 820 mn) of projects under mandate across ten projects. In private equity, we invest in banking, education, and hospitality. Our financial services investments in Sub Saharan Africa are made through our Cytonn Africa Financial Fund (CAFF). Investments in education and hospitality are made through Cytonn Education Services and Cytonn Hospitality, respectively.

The position will afford the individual a clear path to a fulfilling career in Business Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Identifying new sales leads, prospecting and conducting client meetings, presentations and researching organizations and individuals to identify new leads and potential new markets with the aim of growing the business
  2. Develop and recommend to the Management long and short-term plans to achieve the company objectives and goals in growing the company
  3. Scheduling, giving demos of the system to the clients and conducting usability tests of the system
  4. Prepare daily reports and periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales and areas of proposed client base expansion
  5. Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives,tracking engagement metrics that will reveal the key features that remain under utilized
  6. Training prospective clients on the system; Guiding the potential users during the data entry phase
  7. Database management, including keeping records of queries and addition of contacts to the database
  8. Working hand in hand with the Technology team
  9. Liaison person between internal and external stakeholders of the department by responding to queries and providing information as requested
  10. Perform such other duties as may be assigned to from time to time

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must have achieved at least a B+ or equivalent in high school
  2. An undergraduate degree with a minimum 2nd Class, Upper Division from a recognized university
  3. Strong IT and Communication skills (both written and oral)
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills ability to adhere to deadlines, multi-task and be able to prioritize.
  5. Entrepreneurial spirit with demonstrated creativity & innovation in business
  6. Ability to learn quickly and manage workload in a demanding environment
  7. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
  8. Proven experience in customer and market research
  9. Ability to carry out assigned projects to completion
