Conservancy north of Nairobi: 2020 Accounts Payable Accountant Job

Conservancy north of Nairobi is looking for a qualified Accounts Payable Accountant. The ideal candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Commerce/ CPA-K/ ACCA and willing to work in Nanyuki. He/She will be responsible for accurate and effective management of accounts payable ledgers in compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain creditors book inclusive posting of invoices, credit notes, allocation of receipts etc.
  • Preparation of monthly age analysis & ensure reconciliation of creditor’s statements with ledger.
  • Conduct appropriate written and telephonic correspondence and follow-ups with creditors
  • Preparation of payments on basis of due suppliers & getting approval from HOU/CFO for go ahead.
  • Follow up for creditor statements, missing invoices & credit notes from suppliers.
  • Reconciliation of all intercompany creditor’s accounts.
  • Annual audit preparation.
  • Maintain a proficient filing system for account payable records.

Qualification:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) / CPA (K) or ACCA.
  • Must have above 3 years’ experience in a busy working environment.
  • Good understanding of IFRS, local tax regulations and statutory financial accounting and reporting
  • Must be detailed oriented and possess good communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of relevant accounting systems and reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in Sunsystems and Pay master will be an added advantage.
