Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) will be published Standard 7 Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) results online after the Honourable Minister of Education and Skills Development authorise the release of the 2021 Std 7 PSLE results 2021.

The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) in Botswana is a criterion-referenced examination that is administered to all learners who have completed the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) 7-year primary school programme. This is a similar exam like in Tanzania PSLE which is conducted by NECTA.

PSLE candidates appear in seven subjects, Setswana, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Agriculture and Religious and Moral Education.

2021 PRIMARY SCHOOL LEAVING EXAMINATION (PSLE) RESULTS RELEASED

Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2021 Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) results. A total of 46 432 (Forty-Six Thousand Four Hundred and Thirty-Two) candidates wrote the 2021 examination showing an increase in the candidature of 4.5% from the 2021 candidature of 44 427 (Forty-Four Thousand Four Hundred and Twenty Seven). The 2021 cohort had 23 425 (50.45%) females and 23 007 (49.55%) males. The female candidates outperformed their male counterparts in all subjects.

To access your Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) results via mobile  Please follow the instructions below to send an SMS;
Step 1: Go to Compose New Message and type your: Level CentreNumber  CandidateNumber CandidateSurname  Please include a space between the parameter values.

Step 2: Send it to 16688
Step 3:  
You will receive your results via SMS.  (Please do not send CALL BACKS  or reply to this SMS as you will not  get any response)
• Centre number should be 6 characters i.e PS followed by the four numeric characters
 Student number should be four numeric characters.
• The surname is not CASE sensitive.
• After sending your enquiry please allow a few minutes to receive a response. The Response may be delayed due to congested lines.
• Access to results through SMS platform is valid for 7 days from the official publishing date.

Release Date:

Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) will release the 2021 Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) results on mid of December. Last year it was released on 14th December.

There are many ways to get the PSLE Botswana Results 2021. Once it’s published students/parents can collect the results in the following ways.

Botswana PSLE Results from Schools:

All centres will receive copies of their psle results delivered at the sub-regional and regional offices through Express Mail Service (EMS).

Regional offices will access the Botswana PLSE results through Malepa System as well as through CDs which will be delivered through EMS. Candidates can access their results through the SMS technology, BEC Website (www.bec.co.bw Results 2021) and from their schools.

Botswana PSLE Results 2021 Online:

Students can get the result through online. Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) allows students to check the result from official website of BEC. Follow the step below to check the results.

Step 1: Open the internet browser on your laptop or mobile

Step 2: In website Address Type: http://www.bec.co.bw/show_results

Step 3: Select “Examination” as “PSLE”

Step 4: Select “Year” as “2021”

Step 5: Enter your PLSE Exam “The center number”

Step 6: Enter “The student’s candidate number”

Step 7: Now Enter ” The student’s surname”

Final Step: Click on “Show Result” Button.

Symbols used in the Results
 U denotes that a candidate failed to meet minimum requirements for grade E.
 X denotes that a candidate failed to meet the requirements for the award of the qualification.

Results Performance:

A total of 42 517 candidates sat the 2016 PSLE examination showing a decrease from the 2015 candidature of 42 553. Of the 42 517 students, 21 408 were females and 21 109 were males.

Performance in the 2016 PSLE results has increased by 1.40%, from 14.65% in 2015 to 16.05% in 2016 for Grade A.

Percentage of candidates obtaining grade B has improved slightly by 0.04%, from 17.84 in 2015 to 17.88% in 2016. Candidates at Grade C declined by 0.67% from 37.25% in 2015 to 36.58% in 2016.

North East District with 82.09% and South East District with 81.88% performed significantly higher than other districts. The least performing district is Ghanzi at 46.08%.
